- There are two ways to give test stimulus. The first way is to do it
manually. The second way is to load it from a file. For purposes of this
tutorial we will load the stimulus from a predefined force file. I will
go through two examples of creating the stimulus using CLK and RESET.
Select UNSELECT ALL from the palette menu.
- Select forces@/CLK in the trace window.
- Select Stimulus from the Waveform editor pallette.
- Click on ADD CLOCK and you should see a dialog box like
that shown in Figure 13. Type in 100 for CLOCK PERIOD and 5000
for STOP TIME and then click on OK

Figure 13

- From the trace window, select forces@/RESET.
- From the Stimulus palette, select ADD FORCE. For value and time,
enter the values shown in Figure 14.

Figure 15
- Next, we are going to load the rest of the stimulus from a FORCE file.
Select SETUP>FORCE>FROM FILE. Navigate to the file ud_counter.force.You
should see the dialog box shown in Figure 16. Note:
This file should be under the directory /applications/webserver/docs/mentortu.
If you get an error, delete all text in the pathname and then type in the
full pathname yourself.

Figure 16
The results that you see in the Trace window
should be the same as Figure 17.
